Schools to reopen in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana

Indian states of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Telangana will resume physical classes from February 1, 2022. The states of West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh, will follow suit and plan to reopen schools in the first week of February.

There has a nation-wide shutdown of schools since March 2019. With Covid cases declining across the country, schools and colleges plan to reopen. A written consent allowing the children to visit the schools and colleges have been made necessary in almost all the states.

State-Wise Updates:
Haryana: Classes 10, 11 and 12 reopened from February 1.
Madhya Pradesh: Physical classes will resume from February 1 with 50% capacity.
Maharashtra: Schools and colleges in Pune district will reopen from February 1. Schools in other parts of the state for pre-primary to Class 12 students reopened last week.
Rajasthan: Schools will reopen for 10-12 standard students from February 1. For standards 6 to 9, schools will reopen from February 10
Tamil Nadu: Schools will reopen from classes 1-12, colleges and universities from February 1. Play schools, LKG and UKG classes will remain closed.
Telangana: All government, private schools, colleges will resume in-person classes from February 1.
