Schools in COVID-free zones in Maharashtra to resume in-person classes
Maharashtra government has decided to resume in-person classes for students of Classes 8 to 12 from July 15 in schools located in areas where no active COVID-19 case has been reported in the last one month. This will be subject to receiving consent of parents.
An 8 member Committee will be formed to take a call on COVID-free zones, comprising of collectors, school principals and health officials. Sarpanch of the Gram Panchayat will lead the committee in rural areas. The Committee will also be responsible for strict adherence to the Corona Prevention Rules at the village level.
A State Government order states that all teachers, non-teaching staff and staff members need to be vaccinated before the school reopening.
