Masters in Sports Management is an inter-disciplinary course that teaches major components needed to build a career in the sports domain with a public, private, not-for-profit or cooperative organisation. It offers students a master's level understanding of the global business of sports, its organisations, stakeholders and partners, with a business focus on challenges and opportunities. The key elements of the course include sports marketing and sponsorship, finance and economics, strategy, sports policies, effective event management, leadership in sports, sports business practice. This Master's programme differs from an MBA in that it covers fewer subjects but in more depth. The programme examines essentials of management theory and practice, as well as core principles and practice of business and organisations in local and international context. Students gain broad knowledge and expertise in the design and implementation of strategy at different levels of the organisation. An important objective of this degree programme is to enable students to handle the open-ended and evolving nature of training and tactics.
