Maharashtra Education Minister on FYJC Admission criterion after SSC exams cancelled

Earlier this month, Maharashtra State decided to cancel Class 10 (SSC) Board Exams for 2021 stating that results will be declared based on internal assessment. Cancellation of Maharashtra SSC Exams has brought doubts to many students about the admission criteria and marking schemes. Last week, Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad had a meeting with senior department officials & the state board's exam advisory committee to discuss the criterion for FYJC Admissions.
The Minister has assured that a fair criterion for admission to first-year junior college FYJC/Class 11 would be drafted on time. She said, "This is the first in a series of consultations we plan to hold with various stakeholders for evolving a fair & objective criterion in this regard."
