International students can apply for post-study work rights of upto two years in UK from 1 July 2021

International students will be able to apply for a post-study work (PSW) visa via the Graduate Route beginning 1 July 2021. All international students who graduate with a bachelor’s degree or higher from a recognised UK university will be eligible to stay in the country to work for upto two years. Doctoral students will be able to remain in the UK for up to three years.
The Graduate Route is an important part of the UK’s broader international education strategy and its goal to host 600,000 international students by 2030. Applicants for the Graduate Route do not need to have a job offer to be eligible. There will be no minimum salary requirements nor caps on numbers. Graduates on the route will be able to work flexibly, switch jobs and develop their career as required.
Many enrolled international students have been unable to travel to the UK during COVID. The government has also extended the window of time that these students have to enter the UK to be eligible. Applicants who began studies in Autumn 2020 have until 21 June 2021 to enter the UK (updated from 6 April 2021) to be eligible for the Graduate route. Students who began their studies in January or February 2021 will need to be in the UK by 27 September 2021.
