CBSE to hold Board Exam for 2022 in two parts, each with 50% syllabus
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a special assessment scheme for Class 10 and Class 12 board exams for the academic session 2021-22. The academic session will be divided into two terms, and 50% syllabus will be covered and assessed in each term. First-term exams will be held in November-December of 2021, and second term exam in March-April 2022. CBSE states that the session will be divided into two terms by "following a systemic approach by looking into the interconnectivity of concepts and topics by the subjects experts and the board will conduct examinations at the end of each term on the basis of the bifurcated syllabus. Schools will follow the curriculum and syllabus that would be released by CBSE and will use alternative academic calendar and inputs from the NCERT on transacting the curriculum. However, schools will continue teaching virtually till authorities permit in-person mode of teaching.
Classes 9 and 10 Internal Assessment - (throughout the year irrespective of term 1 and 2) will include three periodic tests, student enrichment, portfolio and practical work/ speaking listening activities/ project.
Classes 11 and 12 Internal Assessment - will include end of topic or unit tests/ exploratory activities/ practicals/ project. CBSE has directed schools to create a student profile for all assessments undertaken through the year. The board has asked schools to retain all evidence in digital format.
